Do I need to say more than "SPIDER-MAN 3 IS THIS WEEK!"?
That's right, the movie we've all been waiting for hits this week
in what is sure to be a record-shattering box office debut!
We'll be going to some showing on Friday, and hopefully it will
live up to expectations! In other news, this Saturday is FREE
COMIC BOOK DAY!!! This year, what we've decided to do for
FCBD is hold a "HAPPY COMIC BOOK DAY PARTY"! It's going to
be like our Christmas Party but in May! Look for a separate
FCBD email with all the details.
As far as books coming this week, we've got two giants:
52 WEEK 52, completing the entire weekly series on time for a
year! And we've got WALKING DEAD VOL 6 coming in as well!
This book is the most graphic and disturbing of all the volumes to
date, but don't take our word for it. Read it yourself and
see what everyone was talking about.
Marvel's got a huge assortment of books, including ASTONISHING
X-MEN, DAREDEVIL, HULK, RUNAWAYS and more. And DC is hitting
us with 100 BULLETS, SHAZAM, GREEN LANTERN, TEEN TITANS, DETECTIVE
and a whole slew of other titles. |
| |
| OK, everyone needs time to go reserve
their SPIDEY3 tickets, so that's it for this week! |

I hope everyone had a great holiday weekend! We've got some great
books hitting this week, including the long awaited CIVIL WAR TP!
The post-Civil War juggernaut is off to an interesting start with
a very disturbing story in the first issue of AVENGERS INITIATIVE
last week. This week we follow up with PUNISHER WAR JOURNAL,
NEW AVENGERS, and THUNDERBOLTS. The entire Avengers
Initiative program is a bit frightening. How will the real
Avengers take this? And what's the situation with the
Punisher, who idealized the now dead Captain America? We'll
begin to find out here. On the DC side of town, the amazing 52
reaches issue #49, and still remains on time! Hmmm...DC: 49
weekly issues on time. Marvel: 7 issues, five late....
DC also releases the incredible ALL STAR SUPERMAN #7. But
the DC U continues to drive toward COUNTDOWN and WORLD WAR III as
new issues of TEEN TITANS, WONDER WOMAN, and TRIALS OF SHAZAM hit
the racks.
And from other publishers this week we finally get a new issue
of AMELIA RULES!, FELL and the newest PEANUTS volume. All in
all, a great week for comics. |

| OK, that does it. Looking
forward to seeing everyone this week! |

"METAL MEN" Coming to the Big Screen! |
(From ICV2)
According
to The Hollywood Reporter, Warner Brothers and
producer Lauren Shuler Donner are developing a movie based
on DC's Metal Men. Eric Champnella has been tapped to
write and comic book writer Geoff Johns, who has helped
develop the film, will be executive producer. Gregory
Noveck will oversee the development on behalf of DC.
The
Metal Men story features a brilliant scientist and his
creations: six independent-thinking superhero robots with
abilities related to their metals (gold, iron, lead, tin,
mercury and platinum).
Shuler
Donner has experience bringing other comic books to the
movies, including X-Men and Constantine.
